Healthy Towns launched in Wauchope

This week, alongside Port Macquarie Hastings Council, we launched Healthy Towns. This is a whole-of-community initiative focused on improving the health, wellbeing and social connection of the Wauchope community over time.

Central to Healthy Towns is an investment in ‘social prescribing’ which aims to reduce social isolation and better connect older locals with non-medical supports like social groups, arts and culture, physical activities and volunteering opportunities.

Northern Rivers program unites young and old

A community-led program that forges meaningful connections between young high school students and older adults living in retirement communities has arrived.
